Rotary (Frankston 2.0) and Seaford Little Aths are partnering, along with Seaford North Primary School, to conduct a Fun Run. The event is planned for November 23rd 2014, to raise funds and awareness for youth and men’s health issues.

The events will start and finish in the grounds of Seaford North Primary School, and travel along an ‘out-and-back’ course along the wetland paths.

There will be three events:
- 2km U/12 kids event
- 5km run/walk
- 10km run.

Athletes of any age may compete in the 5km & 10km, but please be aware that the 5km & 10km athletes may be competing unaccompanied at some point during the race. Younger athletes may wish to compete with a parent or ‘buddy’.

In order to make sure that we hold an event of high quality, we are conducting a ‘trial run’ of the proposed courses this Saturday, 7th June, from 8:45am. We need our members and any interested visitors to run on the proposed courses, and tell us what you think. We are especially looking for critical feedback; what is good about the course; what needs to be improved, and if so; how?

Rotary will be assisting us with providing course marshals both this week, and on the day of the Fun Run; and there will be water stations along the course for both 5km & 10km.

The event will be timed, and all finishers will be given a time & ticket. Rotary will also be conducting a brief survey of competitors to ask your opinion of the course. Please give your honest opinion…if you have criticisms, please tell us! We won’t be offended….we need to know all of the things that need improvement, so that we can run a high-standard event.

What do you need to do?
Just turn up at 8:45 am! Registered Seaford Cross Country members & casual need only check in at the sign in table and nominate which distance you wish to compete in (U/12 kids 2km; 5km & 10km all ages.) We will distribute wrist bands to distinguish athletes competing in each event.

Visiting Athletes…
Any visitors are most welcome to join us for a fee of $5.00. Just come up to the Sign-in Table, sign the Casuals Register and let us know what distance you wish to complete.

BBQ & Canteen…
We know that you’ll need a bit of tucker after a long run, so we’ll have sausages, egg & bacon, as well as lollies and hot & cold drinks available for you.
